Who we are.

about DQventures

We’re de-risking entrepreneurship.

We’re a team of (friendly!) venture builders and former founders with multiple exits between us, ranging from $4 million to $85 million.

We set up DQventures to help entrepreneurially spirited people stuck in corporate jobs validate their startup idea so they can take steps towards being a founder (while keeping the safety net of their corporate salary).

Our Approach

A team of experts, working on your idea.

When you partner with us, we become your co-founders, mentors, and biggest supporters, all rolled into one. We bring to the table years of experience in turning ideas into successful startups. From validating your concept to guiding you through the launch, we’re with you every step of the way.

With DQ by your side, you’re not just taking a leap of faith; you’re making a calculated move towards success. It’s time to get that idea out of your head and into the world, and we’re here to help you make it happen.

Here are some of our faves we recommend to first time founders.

Oliver's Pick

Losing My Virginity

A classic by Richard Branson about his own entrepreneurial journey building the Virgin empire.

Arjun's Pick

The Lean Startup

“Build it and they will come” is the worst advice in the world! This book helps you understand a better approach.

James' Pick

The Hard Thing About Hard Things

A brilliant book by one of Silicon Valley’s most respected entrepreneurs / VCs.

Leanne's Pick

The Mom Test

A really great book to read before starting user interviews to understand problem validation!

Toby's Pick

A series of personal writings by Marcus Aurelius, Roman Emperor from AD 161 to 180.

Arjun's Pick

High Output Management

Extremely helpful to read once you start building a team and need to improve your management skills.

We’re a global, remote-first team

And we work with founders across the world.

Our values

Testing over building

Before we actually build anything, we always test our hypotheses first to make sure we build the right thing. The MVP itself comes later once we’ve validated what people want.

There’s no room for egos around here – we believe being nice, polite and kind is so important and we exclusively work with people that feel (and act!) the same way.

Try it and see

You never REALLY know until you try something whether it will work out – so rather than deliberating too long on the theory of whether it’ll work, we try to rapidly find out in real life.

Embrace the unconventional

Just because somethings “always been done like that” before, doesn’t mean it’s the best or only way! Thinking outside the box can lead to breakthrough results.

Work-life balance

No matter how ambitious you are, life isn’t all about work. It’s about your family, your relationships, your mental & physical wellbeing, and more. It is possible to build a great business without burning out!

Global & remote first

We’re a global team and work with founders all over the world. In today’s world, it’s never been easier to stay connected and work together across countries and timezones.

The journey ahead

1000 startups. 10 years.

Between now and 2034, we want to help 1000 people validate their startup ideas.
