2023 in review

Morning all. It’s been a brilliant year here at DQventures. I wanted to share the best bits and say thank you (to you!).

Here’s what we’ve done, and how:

• Officially kicked off 7 new ventures, 4 of which have a female founder, taking our total number of live portfolio companies to 14:

  • Blue Mongoose
  • Juurnee
  • Sentium
  • Plus 3 TBA 🥳
• Supported 3 of our portfolio founders, Patrick (Duellix), Toby (Blue Mongoose) and Richard (DealerDoc), to leave the world of employment to become full-time owner-managers of their own businesses. 😎
• Grew enquiries from wannabe founders by 385% over 2022, including some unbelievably accomplished and talented people (this continues to blow our minds!). Some exciting announcements in the new year. 🎉
• Welcomed exited founder and all-round startup wizard, Leanne Beesley, as our new Managing Partner. 💪
• Generated 7 million social media impressions. 🙏
• Published 51 articles. 🤓
• Hosted a fantastic investor event in Singapore. 🍸
• Helped portfolio company, DealerDoc, raise their $400K pre-seed round. 💰
• Watched in awe as Rob Bryson and the WeNetwork team expanded from Singapore and Indonesia to open additional offices in Australia, Vietnam and Japan. 🇯🇵
• Spent 4 brilliant days in Thailand planning our journey from here to 1,000 DQ companies. 🛥️
• Kicked off a $2m funding round to help us get there. 💸

Our portfolio companies are just getting started, but already they’re valued collectively at just under $19m – a massive achievement, but not surprising given the calibre of the people leading them.

Looking ahead, our next milestone is to launch a further 30 companies, and to make DQventures a truly global operation.
