3 reasons why we avoid brilliant jerks, and you should too

3 reasons why we work π¦πΉπ€ππΆπ΄πͺπ·π¦ππΊ with polite, likeable people and avoid brilliant jerks at all costsβ¦ and why you should consider doing the same.
01. When aspiring founders sign up to DQventures, they join an ecosystem of people like them β experienced professionals who (eventually) gave up the corporate gig to run their own business. For this ecosystem to thrive, it relies on peopleβs readiness to help each other. Nobody wants to be part of an ecosystem filled with selfish jerks.
02. Polite, likeable people tend to make better businessmen and women, because they care about their reputation. Unlike rude people, polite people are willing to play the long game, build a personal brand, and make short-term sacrifices for a better long-term outcome. This is a prime example of deferred gratification, which (in our view) is one of the most important indicators of a founderβs future success.
03. We plan to build DQventures for at least another decade. Frankly, none of us want to spend the next ten years working with people we donβt like.
Has anyone had a good experience working with brilliant jerks? Or a terrible one?!
