Start a Company

Want to start your own business but don’t know how? Read this

Do you know anyone like this? 👇

I hate my job / boss / life. I’d love to start my own company, but it feels like such a big risk. Instead I’ll grit my teeth and keep doing the day job, knowing that one day I can retire and start living the life I want.

The problem is, most people don’t want a career like that.

They dream of taking control of their own lives, pursuing something they’re passionate about and finding meaning in the work they do every day.

If you’re approaching your mid-40s like me (ok, you got me… late-40s), you probably still have ~20 years of work left in you. If you don’t enjoy what you do (which, let’s be honest, is most people), I expect there’s a nagging part of you that resents being a cog in someone else’s wheel.

So what can you do about it?

We’re looking for 4 – 6 more senior professionals, who have a startup idea burning a hole in their head, but who don’t know how to start.

We’ll help them launch a “minimum viable business” in under twelve months, without them needing to quit their job.

What’s the catch?

Each founder pays $2,000 for the first month, while we find out together whether anyone will actually pay for their idea. If they will, it’s $2,000 a month while we build the business and go and win their first customer, which usually takes another two to four months. We put in up to a thousand hours of our team’s time. They put in around twelve hours a week around the day job.

The moment a customer pays, we incorporate together. The founder grants DQ 20%, keeps 80% and takes the CEO seat. The monthly fee stops for good, and what they have already paid is reclaimable out of the company’s revenue. From there we only make money when they do.

No equity changes hands before that point. The founder owns their idea the whole way through, and if they stop, they take everything with them. Our goal is to get them to where handing in their notice is the obvious next move, because by then the business is already earning.

It’s a big risk to leave a well-paid job to launch your own business, but even more so if you’re in your late thirties, forties or fifties, with bills to pay and dependents to support.

We started DQ to help senior professionals de-risk their startup journeys, and avoid the pitfalls that can turn entrepreneurial dreams into real-life nightmares.

Please help us spread the word to the people who need us by liking this post. Or perhaps share it privately with people you believe would make incredible entrepreneurs, if only they could get some help.

P.S. If this sounds like you, drop me a DM.

P.P.S. If you don’t recognise the guy in the image, you’re probably not in our target demographic!
